Ritmo Clave Glossary
of Terms & Theory
The first of it's kind, a
work in progress interactive platform pioneered by musician Bobby
Ramirez that documents
new and existing terms and definitions that relate to the Clave.
It is part of an ongoing exploration encompassing the conceptual

LA CLAVE
The use of the "Clave"
as applied to Latin rhythms and other forms of music throughout
the world is perhaps one of the most inconspicuous musical mysteries
in modern times. Does the "Clave" only exist in Latin
music or is it also evident in other styles of music? How many
"clave" rhythms truly exist? Here we will attempt to
unlock these mysteries by analyzing classic musical arrangements
as well as exploring its roots and influences on modern music.
