It was an evening of music and rhythm as the the Multicultural Arts & Music Institute (MAMI) presented the premier performance of the MAMI Afro-Latin Jazz All Stars under the musical direction of Pedro Luis Martinez, with special guests including renowned flutist Dave Valentin, trombonist, William Cepeda and percussionists Giovanni Hidalgo and Luisito Quintero and great dancers in a cross cultural musical celebration on Saturday, January 25, 2003, at 8:00 p.m. The unprecedented concert - North-South Fusion - A Celebration of Afro-Latin Jazz - took place at Harlem's world famous Apollo Theater, located at 253 W 125th Street.
